The best place to get a spectacular view of the city is at the top of the Danube Tower. The locals call it the concrete needle and it stands 352 meters high. There is a restaurant there at the top that spins around slowly while you take in the panoramic views and try some traditional Austrian cuisine. If you are more of a risk taker then you might enjoy bungee jumping from the top of the tower. It has the highest bungee center in the world.
Schonbrunn Palace is an important landmark you won’t want to miss. Its history dates back to when the Habsburgs ruled and then later Emperor Franz Joseph. He lived there until he died then it was the property of the new republic. Inside the palace you will see the room where Mozart played piano for an Empress. Crystal chandeliers and fresco ceilings adorn this important historical castle.
Schonbrunn Castle has beautiful gardens and a park next door. The gardens come complete with an orchard, hut, and pasture farm. There is also a palm house that has 3 different climates inside and grows rain forest clippings from all over the world. Its 1440 rooms are more than enough to see. A rest in the garden or park may be just the rejuvenation you need. You will enjoy being a part of Austrian history.
